Shelley Midthun assumed the role of Director of Oregon Story Board in August, 2015.  She has been an active participant on the organization’s Advisory Board since January, 2013.  She has also served as Film, Television and Digital Media Program Manager at the Portland Development Commission since September, 2010, where she advocates for economic growth in the animation, visual effects and game development sectors.

Shelley comes to the City of Portland from LAIKA, where she worked in production management for the commercial division of the company and prior to that as part of the executive production team on the animated feature film, Coraline. Shelley’s production experience extends to cinema, television, print and web production.

Shelley believes in the power of storytelling.  She also believes that we need more unique voices telling stories, particularly in entertainment-based media.  Shelley thinks the world looks more interesting and beautiful when viewed through a kaleidoscope.
